Learn to Install Glass Pedestal Sinks
Glass pedestal sinks are designed to replace bathroom vanity. Useful appliance for small bathroom. Besides it doesn’t spend too much space, their design make bathroom look luxurious and shiny. Every manufacturer design and produce glass pedestal sinks in various specification. If you decide to install this appliance into your bathroom, you can hire an expert plumber or you may try yourself, but with caution to be careful, because primary material is glass and if breaking, impossible to be repaired.
General step by step to install glass pedestal sinks into bathroom.
Determine first where your glass pedestal sink will be installed. Put pedestal on its place with lavatory on top part. Ensure lavatory in flat position. See from different view. Check water channel, your existing plumbing connection should match to your pedestal sink specification.
Use pencil give mark on wall and floor. Wall behind lavatory and floor where pedestal will be placed. Usually from factory all glass pedestal sinks are completed with wall and floor bracket to help installation. Be careful when you bring lavatory. After giving mark, put lavatory first on the floor.
Use electrical drill, drill floor on mark you have made. Drill until certain needed depth. Goal of this drilling to make easier later when you will tighten pedestal on the floor using screw. Be careful when drilling, not to break floor.
Tighten pedestal on floor using screw. This screw is installed on anchor washers. Don’t too hard when tighten screw because it can break pedestal. After installing pedestal, mount lavatory on wall where you have given mark. Tighten to the wall using lag bolts. Carefully, this lavatory is made from glass and easy to break. Position lavatory is above pedestal.
Complete pedestal installation by installing downpipe, sink drain, pop-up plug, faucet and water channel.
Last, use paintable cement to cover used holes on the wall and floor. Wait until dry and then paint with the same color. To clean up glass pedestal sink regularly, you can use warm water and vinegar.
